
Celebrate Markham’s Diversity This Weekend
Markham, ON – Come and celebrate Markham’s diversity at the Inter-Cultural Festival at Markham Museum this weekend.
In partnership with a number of local organizations, the Inter-Cultural Festival gives everyone a chance to learn more about their own culture as well as the beliefs, traditions and uniqueness of the communities which make up Markham.
Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 26 and 27, it will be a fun and educational weekend, filled with performing arts, exhibits, a variety of foods and music. Admission is free.
Vendors will offer a variety of materials including handmade jewelery, skin care products, air brush tattoos, and leather goods. Sample foods from Malaysia, Indonesia, Jamaica and Canada.
The Markham Economist and Sun will be running a Speakers Booth so guests can share their unique stories on camera.
Funds raised during the festival will given to the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation.
The Markham Museum is located at 9350 Highway 48 (just north of 16th Avenue).
A shuttle bus will run from Mount Joy Community Centre (16th Avenue just east of Highway 48) to the Museum for both days to help with parking overflow.
